Evening All,
Clyde was not exaggerating about the exciting day we had at the Jessamine festivities.
The goose-bump appearence of the Revolutionary soldiers, the mournful sounds
of the bagpipes, and the absolutely WONDERFUL speech by Ron. More than once
I felt the urge to shout "Amen"!, but because I wanted to come
back next year, I decided to behave myself.
Food was absolutely wonderful...not only the good things that Clyde mentioned, but a large flag-designed cake, jam cake, blackberry cobbler, peanutbutter cookies, sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, brownies (are you all hungry now?) and still more desserts.
Even though the weather was a tad warm, we had some marvelous breezes that made the event even more pleasant. Could anything have topped today's event It would be hard to imagine anything any better.
Thank you, all, who were so instrumental in making this a wonderful day for all of us who had the privilege of attending.
God Bless America,
Carolyn Elliott from Lexington
