Deed Books, Vol. A and B 1799 -1810 Jessamine County p. 76 This Indenture made the 18th day of November, in the year of our Lord, One thousand seven hundred and ninety nine between Tucker M. Woodson and Patsey his wife of the Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Golson Stepp of the County of Lincoln and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part witnessed that the said Tucker M. Woodson and Patsey his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained & sold & and by these presents do grant bargain sell & confirm unto the same Golson Stepp his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Green and bounded as followed (to Wit) beginning at a sycamore, sweet gum and sugar tree upper corner to Adam Craig's 1000 acre survey running thence up the River binding thence north twenty degrees east one hundred and forty poles north sixty poles north twenty degrees west Eighty poles north fifty degrees west one hundred and Forty poles to a white ash and black ash growing from one root and a honey locust thence North seventy-seven degrees west three hundred and Eighty poles to the beginning a walnut, black ash and buckeye thence south eighty degrees East four hundred poles to two poplars and black ash on a ridge thence south seventy-seven degrees East with Adam Craig's line Three hundred & eighty poles to the Beginning. Together with all improvements and appurtenances whatsoever thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the said land and premises with the appurtenances to the said Golson Stepp his heirs and assigns forever & the said (p. 77) Tucker M. Woodson & Patsey his wife their heirs executors administrators the aforesaid land with its appurtenances to the said Golson Stepp his heirs & assigns against the claim or claims of them the said Tucker M. Woodson and Patsey his wife their heirs Executors & administrators or any person or persons Claiming under their claim doth and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereof the said Tucker M. Woodson (p. 78) This Indenture, made and done this twenty sixth day of November one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine between Frederick Stipe & his wife Rachell of the County of Jessamine and State of Kentucky for the one part and Joseph Bowman of the County of Jessamine & the State of Kentucky of the other part Witnessed that the said Frederick Stipe and Rachel his wife for and in consideration for the sum of Sixty Pounds good and lawful money of the state of Kentucky in hand paid by the said Joseph Bowman the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the aforesaid Joseph Bowman his certain attorney executors administrators heirs and assigns a certain tract and parcel of land lying and being and situate in the county of Jessamine and State of Kentucky on the main Jessamine creek containing forty acres of land and bounded as follows.(to wit) Beginning at Jessamine Creek at a ash elm and white oak in a line of Stevensons Millatary Survey about sixty yards below David Miller's mile Running thence with said line North ninety six degrees west Three Hundred and seventy poles to a black oak and hickory south west corner of said Military Survey thence south seventy two & a half degrees East Three hundred and thirty five poles to Jessamine Creek thence down middle the creek to the Beginning containing forty acres of land (p.79) To have and to hold the aforesaid Forty acres the said Joseph Bowman his heirs and assigns forever with every appurtenances, Privileges benefits and premises thereto belonging in fee and simple forever the said Frederick Stipe and Rachel his wife do for themselves their heirs Executors administrators and assigns warrant and forever defend the said tract of land against all other claims or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. Woodson (p. 79) This Indenture made the first day of November one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine between David Hoover and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Jessamine and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Moses Hoover of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part. Witnessed that for & in consideration of the sum of five shillings current and lawful money of Kentucky to them the said David Hoover and Elizabeth his wife in hand paid by the said Moses Hoover the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge & forever acquit and discharge the said Moses Hoover his heirs and assigns hath granted bargained alien conveyed & confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain alien convey & confirm unto the said Moses Hoover and to their heirs and assigns one certain tract or parcel of land being by estimation sixty acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows Viz Being in the County of Jessamine on the waters of Jessamine Creek it being part of Edward Bradley preemption Beginning at two black oaks corner to Mr. Rivers land thence N. 50 ° W one hundred sixty eight poles with said Rivers line to an other corner of his a white oak and two Black oaks thence N 60 E. sixteen poles to a white oak thence W 12 ° E. fourteen poles to a white oak thence N 41 E eleven poles to a stone by a spring thence south 87° E crossing through the middle of said spring eighty eight poles to two hickory and white oak thence N 32 E twenty four poles to two hickories and white oak thence S 57 ° E sixty poles to two dogwoods and white oak standing in said Bradley's line thence S 15° W. eighty four poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land unto the said Moses Hoover and his heirs or assigns forever with its appurtenances advantages and improvements thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining thereto and the said David Hoover and Elizabeth his wife do agree to warrant and forever defend the sixty acres of land hereby conveyed from their heirs and all other persons claiming by their title be it known that should (p. 80) The land hereby conveyed be lost by any other prior claim the said Moses Hoover shall have no recourse to us or our heirs as witnessed hereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this day and year first above written David J. Woodson CK Know all men by these presents that I George Wilson of the County of Harrison am held and firmly bound unto James Johnson of the County of Fayette of the state of Kentucky in the just and full sum of one hundred and fourteen pounds current money of said state to be paid to said Johnson on demand and to which payment will and truly to be made I bind myself my heirs executors and administrators firmly by these presents sealed with my seal and dated this third day of March 1797. ((p 81) The condition of the above obligation is such if the above bound George Wilson his heirs executors or administrators shall will and truly pay or cause to be paid to said James Johnson his heirs or assigns the just sum of fifty seven pounds ten shillings and six pence in value received then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. This day came before one of the Justices for said county John Rose and made oath that he was present and saw George Wilson sign and acknowledge a bond to James Johnson for L57.10.6 bearing date March [ ] 3rd 1797 which bond said. Johnson has now produced with said Roses name thereto as a witness given under my hand this 5th day of April 1797. Nathan Rawlings Harrison County Ct. This day came Francis Smith came before me a Justice of the Peace for said county and made oath that he was present and saw George Wilson sign and acknowledge a bond to James Johnson for the sum of fifty seven pounds ten shillings and sixpence which bond said Johnson now produced with said Smith thereto as a witness given under my hand this 6th day of April, 1797 Nathan Rawlings (p. 82) Know all men by these presents that whereas by an order of the County Court of Jesamine County November 1799 the estate of James Williams Sen. should be divided equitably to law among his legal representatives Viz. Marston Clay, James Knight, John Baker, James Williams and Robert Daugherty Jun. Now these are to certify that we the said Marston Clay, James Knight, John Baker, and Robert Daugherty doth agree severally and jointly to relinquish convey and transfer unto the said James Williams all our right and title as legaters together with the widows right of dower therein to the tract of land of 262 acres whereon the said Mary Williams Andrews now lives in Jessamine County unto the said James Williams and his heirs [ ] the said James agreeing to pay unto the said legaters the first cost and interest of the price of said land in witness whereof the parties have united & interchangeably set our hands & seals this 10th day of December 1799. Woodson of the aforesaid county my lawful Attorney to assign my name to a bond wherein Saml. Johnson [ ] my security on a bill of [ ] I obtained against Josiah Collins in the last quarter session court of the aforesaid county which if either the said Joseph Crockett esq. or Samuel H. Woodson do assign my name to said bond it shall be as good as if I had personally done it myself which shall be binding on me my heirs Executors. Adm. and assigns given under my hand & seal this 23rd of February 1800. Witness B Netherland (seal) James Lockhart Zadock Cannon Jessamine Court, As Clerk of the County aforesaid I do hereby certify that the within power of Attorney was produced before me proven by the oaths of Samuel Lockhart & Zadock Cannon & is duly recorded in my office given under my hand this 25th day of February 1800. (p. 84) Know all men by these presents, that I John Patton of the county of Bourbon and State Kentucky am held and Firmly bound unto William Finney of Woodford County in the final sum of two hundred pounds lawful money which payment do be made I bind myself, my heirs and assigns in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 24th day of July, 1792. The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden John Patton or his heirs shall make or cause to be paid unto the said William Finney his heirs or assigns a good and Sufficient Deed of Conveyance with a general warrantee for one hundred and thirty-five acres of land in the county of Fayette and on the waters of Jessamine including the plantation where the said Patton now lives Bounded as Followed. Beginning at two [alms] Hackberry & Oak Corner to Dyer thence South twenty four degrees and one hundred and twenty two poles to hickory, white oak & ash tree in Jackson's land thence north forty five degrees and seventy three poles an elm in Jackson's line thence north forty five degrees west thirty five poles a hickory corner to Jacksons thence with that line to Jackson's corner near Sinduskys line with the said line to Scott's line thence with Scott's line to the Beginning containing one hundred and thirty five acres that then the above obligation be void otherwise to remain in full force power & virtue of law. Patten of the one part and William Finney of the other part and by the said William Finney assigned to Christian Welly as a copy of the original bond or writing obligatory was produced before me by the aforesaid [A ..] and is duly recorded in my office given under my hand as clerk of the County afores. this 22nd day of March 1800. Woodson This Indenture made this eleventh day of March in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred between Zachery Taylor of County of Jessamine and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Frederick Zimmerman of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part. Witnessed that the said Zachery Taylor for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds current money of Kentucky to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the said Frederick Zimmerman his heirs executors & administrators have granted bargained sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Frederick Zimmerman his heirs & assigns forever all that land or parcel of land situate lying and being on the east fork of Hickman creek in the aforesaid County and bounded as followed. Beginning at two sugar trees & Hickory Corner to William Hinds Robert Lawson and said Zimmerman running with the line of said Lawsons N 63 degrees W 37 poles to a Spanish oak and Hickory standing in a stream thence north Fourteen degrees east one hundred and sixteen poles (p. 86) P. 12, 1st line To two hickories and Burr oak Standing on the bank of east Hickman Creek at the mouth of Ambrose Bourns Spring branch thence up said Hickmans Creek as it meanders to a white oak elm and Iron wood where said Zimmerman's line crosses the creek thence with said Zimmerman's line to the beginning containing twenty four acres more or less together with all improvements water courses profits and appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversions remainders and profits thereof and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of him the said Zachary Taylor unto Frederick Zimmerman of in and to the same to have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and every part and parcel thereof with every of the appurtenances unto the said Frederick Zimmerman and the said Zachary Taylor for himself his heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said Frederick Zimmerman his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned now and forever hereafter shall remain free of and from all former and other gifts grants bargains sales dowers right and title of dowers judgments executions title troubles charge and encumbrances whatsoever done or suffered to be done by him the said Zachary Taylor or any other person or persons whatsoever and the said Zachary Taylor for himself his heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Frederick Zimmerman his heirs and assigns against him the said Zachary Taylor and his heirs and assigns all and every other (p. 87) (page 13 person or persons whatsoever and doth and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. Woodson This indenture, made this ___day of ____ one thousand eight hundred between Thomas Walters and Sarah his wife of the County of Jessamine and State of Kentucky of the one part and John Stonestreet of the said county and commonwealth of Kentucky of the other part Witnessed that the said Thomas Walters and Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of eighty three pounds current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge doth bargain and sell unto the said John Stonestreet his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of (p. 88) Jessamine containing fifty acres and bounded as followed (to wit) Beginning at an ash sapling standing on the east side of Curds Ferry Road and corner to Margureta Wilson and running with said Mrs. Wilson's line N. 88 degrees E. 97 poles to a black walnut and hickory another of Mrs. Wilson's corners and in the line of John Stonestreet, then with said Stonestreet line N 2° W 58 poles to an ash sapling Corner to Stonestreet from thence with another line of Stonestreet N 45 E 50 poles to a stake on Stonestreets line and corner to Stephen Walters thence with Walters line N. 71 W. 44 poles to a stake in the corner of a lane from thence S. 37 1/2 W 36 poles to another stake in the corner of a field from thence S 60 poles W 83 poles to two sugar trees on the east side of Curds Ferry Road thence with the said road S 3 E 113 poles to the beginning together with all its appurtenances to have and to hold the said fifty acres of land with its appurtenances to the said John Stonestreet his heirs or assigns to the sole use and behoove of him the said Stonestreet and his heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Walter and Sarah his wife for themselves and their heirs doth covenant with the said Stonestreet and his heirs or assigns that the said Thomas Walter and Sarah his wife and their heirs the said tract of land with its appurtenances unto the said John Stonestreet and his heirs or assigns against all persons whatsoever will forever warrant and defend in witness whereof the said Thomas Walter and Sarah his wife have hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day and year first above written. Woodson (p. 91) This Indenture made this Third day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred between Golson Stapp and Rachel his wife of the County of Lincoln and State of Kentucky of the one part and Elisha Cravens of the County of Jessamine and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Golson Stapp and Rachel his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred and Fifty pounds current money to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the said Elisha Cravens his heirs Executors & administrators; do by these presents grant bargain sell and Confirm unto the said Elisha Cravens his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Jessamine containing one hundred Acres and bounded as followed To wit, Beginning at a hickory Running thence south 72 poles East 170 1/4 poles to two hickorys thence north 17 ° east 94 poles to a hickory and stake thence north 72 west 170 1/4 poles to a Locust and two hickorys thence south 17 West 94 poles to the Beginning Together with all and Singular the appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversions, remainders and profits thereof and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of the said Golson Stapp and Rachel his wife their heirs executors administrators and assigns of in and to the same. Stapp (seal) In presence of her Rachel C Stapp (seal) mark (NB interlined before assigned in the words containing one hundred acres) Jessamine Court The within Indenture between Golson Stapp and Rachel his wife of the one part and Elisha Craven of the other part was produced before me acknowledged the said Rachel being first privily examined separated & apart from her said husband and having Voluntarily relinquished her right of Dower therein to be their act and deed and is duly recorded in my office In Testimony whereof I as Clerk of the County aforesaid have hereunto set my hand this 21st day of March 1800 Saml H Woodson (p.93) Know all men by these presents that we Isaac Farris and Nathan Farris of Lincoln County we our heirs and assigns are held and firmly bound unto Thomas Nicholson of the same County or his heirs or assigns in the Just and full sum of three hundred pounds in Gold or silver as Witness our hands & seals this the 4th day of September one Thousand and eighty Six The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Isaac Farris and Nathan Farris do make or cause to be made a good and Lawful right & title to the above Thomas Nicholson and so forth to a certain tract or parcel of Land Containing Three hundred acres lying and being in the County of Fayette Lying on Jessamine creek Beginning at the said Creek and running on Bowmands & said Farris dividing Line to the Corner and thence the old line Joining Prichet, Clay, and Franklin therein to have this Three hundred of Land of to said Nicholson when required and also the Deed made to the above mentioned on or before the Tenth day of October one Thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven then the above obligation to be void or else to remain in full force and virtue signed sealed and Delivered in presence of Issac Farris (seal) Teste Nathan Farris (seal) John Farris James Farris (p.94) Jessamine To wit March County Court 1800 The within Bond was Produced in Court and on the motions of Thomas Nicholson the obligee therein named is ordered to record. Woodson CL Know all men by these presents that I Isaac Farris and James Farris of Lincoln County and state of Virginia am held and Stands firmly bound unto John Franklin of the same County in the Just and full sum of Four hundred Pounds of good and Lawful money of Virginia for the true performance of which we bind ourselves our heirs & Executors. Administrators. And assigns firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated the ninth day of December one Thousand seven hundred and eighty four The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Isaac Farris James Farris shall make or cause to be maid a good and lawful right or title to a certain tract of land in Fayette County on Jessamine Creek Containing Four hundred acres beginning on the lower line running up the said Creek dividing the Spring where the said Acres now lives thence up the said Creek for Quantity the said land to be the other side the creek opposite to the said Acres if obtained by the said Farris if not obtained the said Farris is to pay to the said Franklin his heirs or assigns the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds with Lawful interest from the day received this the above obligation to (p. 95) void and of none affect otherwise to remain in full force Signed sealed & Deliver.
