Marble Creek Baptist Church
   
It was on this site a one room log church was built in 1788. On September 2, 1787, a small group of people met here to discuss organizing a church, which would become known as the Marble Creek Meetinghouse. It's founder was John Price. One of the organizers of this church was the Rev. George Stokes Smith. Among the members were, Flanders Callaway and his wife Jimmie Boone, She was a daughter of Daniel Boone. Boone's sister Mary Bryan Boone, was also a member of the church. Both families lived within a mile west of the meetinghouse. The Rev. John Price, of Shenandoah Co., VA became the first pastor. This meetinghouse also served as a schoolhouse, and the Rev. Price as it's teacher. Nathan Boone, youngest son of Daniel Boone attended this school and was taught by the Rev. Price in 1793. The Marble Creek Meetinghouse was moved to a new location in 1802, and the name was changed to the East Hickman Baptist Church. It was here, in this one room log cabin John Price, fired his congration into separating this county from Fayette County.
